Biological Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Evaluating your funcion

'' Why We Practice Personalised Functional Medicine? ''

Our bodies and their systems (organs, muscles, bones, etc.) are masterpieces of design. Every part has its specific functions as well as an interrelationship with the whole. When you experience symptoms, it’s your body’s way of telling you that something isn’t working at its full function. Our role is to work with you to determine what’s not functioning, why is that so, and how we might assist you in restoring your health. We use a holistic, supportive, patient-centered, presonalised approach to healthcare that benefits patients of all ages and chronic conditions. As functional medicine practitioners, we consider the web of interactions that occur among the following: Nutrition at the molecular level Digestive function Detoxification capacity (heavy metals, xenobiotics, carcinogen, sick building, pollution) Energy producing metabolism Oxidative stress Stress management and neurotransmitters Hormonal function and balance (Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy) Structural function Immunity Inflammation Genetics We clarify the extent of any dysfunction by intensive listening (taking your history), physical examination, and laboratory tests. Once we have identified the root causes of your symptoms, we carefully tailor specific treatments and therapies, including dietary changes, lifestyle improvement, nutritional supplementation, herbal medicines, exercise and stress reduction appropriate to your lifestyle, alternative medicine including acupuncture, mind-body harmonizing medicine, and pharmaceutical use if necessary in consideration with your genetic information. We consider ourselves to be your partners in improving your health. We also use functional medicine to assess your risk of developing certain health conditions and to prevent chronic illnesses from occurring. In this way, we move from a downstream (reactive) approach, to an upstream (proactive) approach. We can help you determine what factors are “pushing you into the river” in the first place by identifying your susceptibilities. One of our newest approaches is functional genetic testing. Although you cannot change the “hand of cards you have been dealt” genetically, with this information we can assist you in “playing your hand” in a more effective way. This approach offers significant promise regarding prevention of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, obesity, and chronic fatigue, as well as successfully addressing a number of common maladies. Last but least, our holistic functional approach customise your individual treatment plan to improve your ageing related damaged and weakened functions and to restore your youth.

Wellness Clinic Kagurazaka is an unique medical centre in Japan, specialising in integrative functional care and holistic anti-ageing medicine which differs from conventional medicine in that it focuses on treating the original causes of chronic problems rather simply suppressing disease symptoms.Wellness Clinic Kagurazaka has combined the most advanced functional therapies using the technologies of genetics and evaluation. Using our expertise in testing for any irregularities at the molecular and DNA levels as well as any weakness at the particular functional pathways, the state of your overall health can be identified enabling the pre-detection of a disease even before the manifestation of any symptoms.Wellness Clinic Kagurazaka has established the skills in applying comprehensive testing results into its daily practice to enhance patients' immunity, hormone and neurotransmitter profiles, autonomic nerve system, and energy production for the purpose of achieving optimal health and youth.

Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BI-HRT)

An individualised approach, using bio-identical hormone replacenment therapy, pinpoints a person's exact hormone levels, and what hormones are needed to balance their hormone deficiency. The differences between synthetic and biologically identical hormones are in their chemical structures and functionality. BHRT hormones have the same chemical structures as the hormones created naturally in the human body. Hormones are very powerful substances that affect every cells of our body: it is not surprising that we experience a myriad of unpleasant symptoms and conditions when our hormones become imbalanced or deficient. Diet, nutrition, stress management, physical exercise, family history and genetics are also important factors in determining your overall hormone health and meeting your personal hormone balancing goals.

Womens hormone balancing benefits may include: :

overall decrease in menopause symptoms : decreases menstrual bleeding and spotting : decreases menstrual related health concerns : restore fertility : increased metabolism : helps prevent heart diseases : reduces irritability and anxiety : enhances sound sleep : slows bone loss : adds moisture to the skin : enhances libido : controls nody weight easily

BIHRT is also often used to ease the variety of conditions that women of all ages may go through:

example: menopause pre-menopause pre-menstrual syndrome polycystic ovarian syndrome irregular menstruation infertility endometriosis fibroid fibrocystic breasts vaginal dryness decreased libido decreased stamina adrenal dysfunction

BIHRT for Andropause As men grow older, levels of testosterone decrease and estrogen levels increase. In fact, the average 60 year old male has more circulating estrogen in his blood stream than the average 60year old female. As if the decline in testosterone were not problematic enough, new research has shown that even small increases in estrogen may have detrimental effects on men's cardiovascular health. Andropause arrives in a man's life when there is a drastic drop in hormone levels. Although total testosterone may not drop drastically, free testosterone, or the active firm of testosterone. Drops significantly with age. When levels of testosterone fall, the condition is called hypogonadism. This age-related decline in free testosterone levels may result in diminishing energy, reduced libido, decreasing muscle mass. Abdominal weight gain, depression, reduced cognitive function, an an increased risk of heart disease. Testosterone therapy for men is base on personal hormone test results to determine the testosterone dosage that fits the needs if the person. No two people are alike, an hormone needs differ from person to person. A biologically identical hormone replacement therapy (BIHRT) programme that includes testosterone actually helps address the cause of the problem, not just the side-effects, while offering a combination of additional long-term health benefits.

Benefit from BIHRT balancing with Testosterone

Cardiovascular health: the important role of testosterone is protecting and enhancing cardiovascular function. Prostate health: A study in the International Journal of Andrology shows that testosterone replacement caused a reduction I prostate gland size, PSA numbers dropped, frequency, urgency, dribbling, and getting up at night to urinate all improved.

Lean body mass: The sex hormones, testosterone especially, play a prominent role in fat distribution, muscle mass determination as well as activating  overall metabolism. Testosterone BIHRT are proved to improve obesity, overweight, laxity, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and all other metabolism related health concerns.

Bone health: bone health is dependent on sex hormone balance and testosterone levels.

Immunity: Sex hormones are known to enhance body's immune system. Testosterone promises stamina and healthy immune function. We lose immunity as we age. BIHRT balancing testosterone benefits youth and overall health by supporting one's immune function.

Mood and brain function: optimal levels of sex hormones are essential for mood, sense of well-being, normal sleep patterns, sleep quality, as well as brain function and cognitive ability. BIHRT with testosterone are beneficial for improving migraines, depression, sleeplessness, memory loss, anxiety, mood swing etc.

high dose vitamin C infusion

Vitamin C is one of the most well-known nuturient. Vitamin C is an important water soluble (water-friendly) anti-oxidant substance. It is beneficial to the improvement of the immune system, reversing inflammation and supporting the detoxification process. Vitamin C infusion assists in the treatment of a number of diseases ranging from flu, immune dysfunction to cancer. Vitamin C also improves psychological diseases such as depression and sleeplessness. Not to mention hormone imbalance, which is also regulated by vitamin C infusion. And last but not least, vitamin C infusion acts to help stem the growth of cancer cells. It is well known that vitamin C can be taken orally as a health supplement or food. However, orally taken vitamin C and infusion administered vitamin C are completely different regarding their levels of efficacy. Firstly, although one needs to have a very high concentration of vitamin C to benefit from its cancer combating and immune enhancing effects, 50g at least per session, the human digestive system cannot tolerate even 2 or 3g of vitamin C when it is taken orally. Second, orally taken vitamin C cannot be utilized by the body's peripheral cells because most of the vitaminC is disposed of in the urine before it is delivered to the peripheral tissues. In conclusion, we recommend that the most practical and efficient method to administer vitamin C is through infusion.

PK Protocol

PK protocol is named after Dr Patricia Kane in the USA. Dr. Patricia Kane, PhD, has developed a highly effective protocol to treat neurodegenerative disease and has a large body of successfully treated patients to support her claims. The protocol has brought to light the crucial importance of IV pushes of the three substances. phosphatidylcholine (PPC), glutathione, and folate in the prevention, treatment, and reversal of neurological disease and cognitive decline. Phosphatidylcholine (PPC): A precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, whose deficiency is a hallmark of Alzheimer's disease. Studies have shown that dosages of 10-25g of PPC result in significant reduction of neurological deficits, including memory, cognition and motility.Glutathione: The brain's master antioxidant and plays an important protective role in the brain. Glutathione can prevent death of brain cells induced by amyloid plaques in Alzheimer's disease, while substances that deplete Glutathione increase cell death. Folate: During a nine-year study appearing in the inaugural issue of Alzheimer's and Dementia, researchers showed that older adults whose diets were high in folate reduced their risk of Alzheimer's disease by half compared with those whose diets contain less than the Recommended Dietary Allowances. More specifically, folate has also been shown to lower blood levels of homocysteine especially for the people with genetically predisposition to the weak methylation pathway. Insufiiciency in methylation leads to other chronic disaeses such as obesity, hypertension, bone loss and various cancer. Folate bypasses the weakness in the methylation pathway and strongly support anti-inflammatory function and repair of genes. Folate injection followed by phosphatidylcholine or folate injection followed by alpha-lipoic acid is most effective way of achieving benefit from folate. Phosphatidylcholine is the main ingredient in almost every protocol used in mesotherapy. Phosphatidylcholine is also being used for plaque removal in the arteries. In the phosphatidylcholine therapy, an essential phospholipid (lecichin/phosphatidylcholine) is utilised in the form of a series of infusions to clear blocked arteries. The Phosphartidylcholine is a mixture of essential phospholipids derived from soy beans combined with other proven chelation and plaque removing ingredients such as Calcium EDTA, which we also offer as a main ingredient of heavy metal removal treatment. It is the treatment of choice for atherosclerosis, the deposit of fatty plaques in the arterial and capillary lining of the blood vessels. Application of bolus phospholipid therapy with phosphatidylcholine, co-enzymes, methyl factors (methyl-cobalamin and methyl-folate), and gluthathione have been successfully utilised in clinical settings worldwide. Lipid therapy may reverse prevalent symptoms and stabilise aberrant neurotransmitters in patients with neurological disease. The administration of the lipid-based infusion may offer a new, safe and secured therapeutic strategy for neurological and degenerative diseases as well as health problems associated with chemical and metal toxicities.

Alfa-lipoic acid infusion

Dr. Berkson, located in New Mexico, USA is one of the world’s foremost authorities on intravenous Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), is the principal American FDA investigator for its intravenous use, and a consultant to the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He has utilised Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) successfully for treatment of chronic liver disease, various cancers, and a number of autoimmune disorders. In Wellness Clinic Kagurazaka, we have been treating cancer with Alpha lipoic acid infusion in combination with Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) as well as high dose Vitamin C treatment. This set of combination manages cancer growth to slow down and even get minimised its size. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a powerful antioxidant that recycles other nutrients such as Coenzyme Q10, and Vitamins C and E. In addition, Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) chelates harmful metals such as mercury, lead, , arsenic and cadmium. It also stabilizes NF Kappa B transformation factor, which accelerates inflammation , thus helps to avoid genes get damaged. It can help people with diabetes mellitus by increasing the sensitivity of their cells to insulin, and helps reverse diabetic neuropathies. There may be no stronger antioxidant than Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA). This remarkable coenzyme, which occurs naturally in our bodies in abundance when we're young, gradually diminishes with age. It may very well be one of our best defenses against disease and aging. ALA is water-friendly and oil-friendly. When ALA is intravenously given, as circulating along the bloodstream, ALA can work outside of the mitochondria membrane as well as inside of the mitochondria, in which leads efficient energy production by utilising mitochondria even in the extremity cells, normalisation of metabolism and enhancement of immunity. Oral taking ALA and intramuscular injection of ALA do not provide same benefits as ALA infusion also face the restriction of dosage. Alpha-lipoic acid intravenous infusion treatments for: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Fibromyalgia Crohn's disease Endometriosis Irritable Bowel Syndome Multiple Sclerosis Parkinson’s Disease Psoriasis Rheumatoid Arthritis Scleroderma Systemic Lupus Ulcerative Colitis Migraines Autoimmune Diseases Cancer (pancreas, breast, gastric, colon, lymphoma,…) Depression Low Energy Chemical sensitivity

GSH (gluthathione) infusion

GSH infusion is becoming a critical part of the intravenous therapy. The scientific basis of intravenous glutathione therapy is well established, and clinical studies have demonstrated excellent results across a variety of conditions, including difficult to managing chronic diseases. Glutathione is a protein called a tripeptide – a molecule composed of three amino acids: L-glutaminate, L-cysteine and glycine. It is the most antioxidant and quenches dangerous free radicals. It also binds to dangerous toxins through a detoxification process called "conjugation" so that toxins can be safely eliminated. Why oral glutathione does not work? Oral glutathione is not very stable; stomach acid and digestive enzymes digest it into merely nutrition amino acid, rendering it useless. Therefore we have to use intravenous glutathione to ensure effective delivery of the nutrient directly through the bloodstream into the cells. We recommend GSH infusion treatment for Low immunity Chemical sensitivity Fatigue Ageing Parkinson's disease Multiple sclerosis Alzheimer's disease Stroke Depression Athletic performance enhancement Asthma Liver diseases (hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis) Metal toxicity Cancer management

Myer's cocktail

The Myers' Cocktail is a powerful blend of vitamins and minerals designed for IV use. It was originally developed in the 1970s by Dr. John Myers, a Maryland physician. Since then, many people all over the world have been using the Myers' Cocktail to help treat a broad spectrum of health conditions. Although Dr. Myers, the inventor of the cocktail, originally had one formula, that formula has since evolved. Now, we will often tailor the Myers' Cocktail according to a patient's particular needs and individuality, adding or deleting nutrients as appropriate. An original Myer's Cocktail protocol is customised by using the following nutrient set as a core. Magnesium chloride Calcium gluconate Vitamin B-12 (hydroxycobalamin) Vitamin B-6 (dexpanthenol) Panthenol (B5) B-Complex Vitamin C when vitamins are taken orally, they have to be digested and adequate absorption may not occur. Intravenous vitamin therapy is the most direst way to experience the benefits of natural vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Many people utilise intravenous vitamin therapy for preventive measures, while others seek the therapy during acute times, such as the onset of a cold or viral outbreak. Some even turn to the therapy for improving anti-ageing benefits, sports performance, increasing energy, or for a greater sense of well being. At Wellness Clinic Kagurazaka, we have found the Myers' Cocktail to be extremely useful in the treatment of a wide variety of conditions, including:

Infections (Cold, Flu) Seasonal allergies and Asthma Chronic bronchitis Fatigue Adjunctive treatment for certain cardiac conditions (not intended to replace current guidelines of therapy) Athletes Performance Migraines/Cluster headaches Hypertension Cardiovascular disease Fibromyalgia, Neuropathic pain Chronic infections, e.g. hepatitis B and C, HIV, herpes, chlamydia, etc. Depression Imbalanced autonomous nerve system

Homeopathic infusion

Traumeel ® is a homeopathic blend of numerous plant and mineral extracts with known healing properties. It is available in various forms including oral tablets, topical cream/gel, and as an injectable. In many countries throughout the world, Traumeel injections are a popular treatment for soft tissue injuries including muscle, ligament, synovital capsule, and tendon injuries. The treatment is appealing due to its immediate healing effects combined with a minimal side effect profile compared to steroid injections and anti-inflammatory medications. Inflammation is a natural and vital response to initiate healing after injury. Most new injuries quickly follow with redness, pain & swelling. This is the bodies attempt to repair itself. However, the inflammation phase can be excessive and prolonged, which delays and disrupts healing. By neutralizing the balance of inflamed cells called “cytokines”, Traumeel restores a balance of inflammation to facilitate healing. Injectable Traumeel is precisely delivered to the area where full of inflammatory mediators and promises quick recovery. We often combine traumeel and platelet rich plasma (PRP) and/or vitaminB12 (methyl-cobalamin). PRP stimulates stem cells to proliferate healthy cell growth. Injured soft tissues are facilitated to reverse to the normal structure and original health. PRP synergistically works with Traumeel injection to make the treatment effects last longer and stabilise it. For fibromyalgia, multiple severe pain over the body is also beneficial from traumeel. In fibromyalgia case, a set of intravenous Traumeel infusion sessions is practical and recommendable.   Zeel ® is homeopathic medication that we second most use among our homeopathy treatment. Zeel helps to relieve moderate arthritic pain. Zeel also helps to alleviate joint stiffness. Zeel can be used for lessening the discomfort of the deformed joint inflammation called osteoarthritis and can improve joint mobility. Because of the swelling in the joint compartment, stiffness, and deformity, blood circulation cannot be delivered to the inflamed lesion well enough. Also the lymphatic circulation is stuck in the joint. Therefore topical injection to the joints or intravenous administration reaches the damaged parts directly, which works better than other way of Zeel treatment.

Vitamin B12 injection (intramuscular, intravenous infusion, infusion shot) VitaminB is important for the normal functioning of the nervous system and for formation of blood. It is involved in the metabolism of most cells, especially affecting DNA synthesis and regulation. Vitamin B12 is also involved in energy production and fatty acid synthesis. Many medical conditions, illnesses, and substance dependencies, as well as chronological ageing can lead to a vitaminB12 deficiency. Subsequently, low vitaminB12 may result in loss of energy, inefficiency of metabolism and increasing of risk of degenerative diseases.

Chelation therapy

Chelation is an intravenous infusion treatment using the substance of amino acid EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetracetic Acid) which has the ability to "bond" or "hook onto" atoms of heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, calcium and some trace metals. Metals are 'grabbed' by EDTA's both hands and then the conjugated substances are secreted in bodily wastes. Metals are able to be eliminated from the body, when EDTA is administered via intravenous route only. Heavy metal accumulation in the body is well known to contribute to many health problems by triggering formation of "free radicals", which leads to systemic inflammation and depletion of immunity. Excess heavy metals may also cause plaque on the vessels. When this happens on a relative small vessel, plaques make the vessel thinner. Thus, cells of body turn to shortage of blood supply and automatically being unable to have sufficient oxygen and nutrition which suppose to be conveyed by blood circulation.

To summarise potential health problems affected by heavy metal toxicity include:

hardening of the arteries, hypoxia (not enough oxygen), premature ageing, cardiovascular disease, fatigue, sleeplessness, depression, irritation, asthma, diabetes, obesity, memory loss, stroke, infertility, hormonal deficiency, hormone imbalance, adrenal fatigue, chronic skin diseases, low immunity, auto-immune diseases such as arthritis, scleroderma, and thyroiditis, basedow disease, hemolytic anaemia, aplastic anaemia, type1 diabetes, psoriasis, and others.

We hope to substantially restore your health by eliminating harmful heavy metals. Detoxifying heavy metals is equivalent to removal of hidden original cause of diseases. Chelation therapy medication is individually differed. One size doesn't fit all! Our ACAM trained chelation specialists supervises chelation regimen every single treatment session according to the individual genetics and constitution. Also in order to ensure safety of procedure. We do not suggest to go for chelation therapy carried out by any inexperienced nor untrained chelation performers in order to avoid unwanted adverse effects.

about EDTA ….

Chelation is one of the main metal detoxification practices, in which EDTA (ethylene diamine tetra aceitic acid) is administered via drip infusion to catch (chelate) excess heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium, calcium and other harmful metals that are accumulated in the blood as well as all over the body's tissues especially, spacing niche, such as blood vessel membrane and small joints. Heavy metals are recognised to be precursor to plaque of the vessel, namely atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis elevates one's blood pressure. Imagine an old rusty clogged water pipe. Water turns to be rusty and water gets stuck. Plaque is just like the persistent rustic clots inside the water pipes. The vessel plaques increase the risk of developing eventual heart attack. There are numbers of studies have reported that chelation treatment helped people who needed to go under heart bypass to avoid the heart operation. Among people suffer from arthritis or joint pain, excess metals in their body is commonly seen. Heavy metals in the joints generate free-radicals, which causes inflammation inside of the joint compartment. Joint inflammation contributes to joint destruction and may involve bones. When remove the excess metals from patients with joint problems, majority of the case shows dramatic improvement in their symptoms after a few session of chelation without immune suppressant medication. Heavy metals prefer to accumulate in soft and fatty tissues as they are oil-soluble (oil-soluble=oil-friendly). Thus, endocrine organs such as the pancreas and thyroid grand, mitochondria and brain, are vulnerable to heavy metals. For instance, excess arsenic is a risk factor of diabetes as it damages the pancreas gland of producing a sugar controlling hormone, insulin. Detoxification promotes body's circulation and even peripheral circulation. EDTA infusion in particular, removes the causal factors safely, the inhibitors of body's critical functions, therefore it is beneficial for both the slowing the ageing process of the cells as well as promoting the rejuvenating process of the healthy cells.

LDN for immune dysfunction, cancer and autism

Naltrexone is originally a medicine approved as a treatment at a dose of 50mg for heroin and opium addicts. When given at a low dose it stimulates the body’s production of endorphins. Endorphins help maintain and regulate the immune system. Dr. Bernard Bihari in the USA described beneficial effects of Low Dose Naltrexone for a variety of diseases. We employ LDN mainly for cancer. LDN is inexpensive and easy to swallow only 1 capsule dailyw and does not develop adverse effects. In our clinic, LDN is also used to treat autism and autoimmune diseases. For a complete discussion and further information on LDN please visit www.lowdosenaltrexone.org.

Evaluating Your Function

oxidative stress test

Factors associated with oxidative damage:

Atherosclerosis • Body mass index • Cancer • Diabetes • Environmental exposure • Gender • Hematological diseases • Hyperglycemia • High blood pressure • Liver disease • Lung cancer • Parkinson’s disease • Poor lifestyle habits • Sleep apnea • Smoking • Toxic exposure

8-hydroxy-2’ deoxyguanosine (8OHdG) is a marker of oxidative damage to DNA. 8OHdG correlates with the rate of DNA damage. Research studies have used 8-OHdG as an assessment of oxidative damage when evaluating effects of toxic exposure or disease states, and in response to medications, treatments, supplement use and improved diet and lifestyle habits. Research has shown that improved diet, lifestyles and supplement use can decrease the level of oxidative damage. Lipid Peroxides Lipid peroxides are the products of chemical damage done by oxygen free radicals to the polyunsaturated fatty acids of cell membranes. They cause a variety of toxic effects at the cellular level and their formation is considered a pathological process in biological systems. Their formation can be repressed by antioxidants, such as vitamin E, structural separation or low oxygen tension. The results provide a measure of total serum lipid peroxidation, an indicator of whole body free radical activity. Treatment plans can then be created with your doctor to lower high lipid peroxides. Conditions and symptoms related to high lipid peroxide levels: • Aging • Cancer • Cardiovascular disease • Stroke

Wellness Clinic CardioVascular risk panel (WC2V)

WC2V testing is a combination of nutritional analyses that measures levels of organic acids, fatty acids, amino acids, micronutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, vascular inflammation and risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD) . Over time, functional nutritional inadequacies can result in a variety of chronic health conditions. Our CV risk panel will help determine the basis for these chronic health conditions and plan the preventive measures. According to the American Heart Association, 1 in 3 adults has some form of cardiovascular disease. Wellness Clinic CV risk panel identifies key nutritionally modifiable risk factors for CVD, including: Fatty Acid imbalances leading to chronic inflammation, a probable cause of CVD High Fibrinogen that can make the blood more sticky, increasing risk of clots. Homocysteine, an important risk factor for not only CVD, but stroke and dementia as well Coenzyme Q10, a fat-soluble, vitamin-like substance in every human cell, involved in key biochemical reactions that produce cell energy and acts as an antioxidant. Fasting insulin, an indicator of insulin resistance often leading to metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes and CVD Sufficiency of antioxidant protection, shown in studies to help reduce fatty deposits on artery walls and limit cell damage that can lead to both CVD and cancer. C-reactive protein (hs), a marker of early detection of CVD inflammation as well as Chronic fatigue syndrome, Cancer, Obesity, Immune disorders, Mental/emotional disorders, Multiple chemical sensitivities, Inflammatory conditions including joints and skin reported inWC2V testing: Profile components are: Organic acids – reveals the nutritional and metabolic basis of symptoms, including anxiety, mood changes and immune responses Fatty Acid Profile – helps strike the right balance of fatty acids that can impact health and development Amino Acids Profile – determines essential amino acid imbalances that affect both physical and mental function Nutrient and Toxic Element Profiles – identify a toxic burden, which can render considerable damage the brain and nervous system, as well as sufficiency of nutrient elements Antioxidant vitamins – measure total body status of antioxidant nutrients and nutritional deficiencies

Adrenal profile

Diseases and conditions associated with chronic stress, Anxiety, Back pain, Cardiovascular disease, Celiac disease, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Depression, Hypoglycemia, High blood pressure, Insomnia, Migraine headaches, Obesity, Thyroid dysfunction, stomach or duodenal ulcers, Weak immune system Adrenal Stress Profiles: cortisol and DHEA levels and ratio Chronic stress is a state of ongoing physiological arousal. This occurs when the body experiences so many stressors that the autonomic nervous system, which helps one adapt to changes in the environment, rarely has a chance to activate the relaxation response. This type of chronic stress response occurs all too frequently from a modern lifestyle, when everything from high-pressured jobs to loneliness to busy traffic can keep the body in a state of perceived threat and chronic stress. In this case, our fight-or-flight response can wear down our bodies and cause us to become ill, either physically or emotionally. A stressful lifestyle can lead to consistently high levels of cortisol, and low levels of the hormone DHEA (dehydoepiandosterone), which can be damaging to the brain and other tissues. Cortisol (a stress hormone) elevation also impacts immune responses, such as secretory IgA (sIgA) and anti-gliadin antibody (AGA) production. SIgA, part of the first line of immune defense against pathological microorganisms and food antigens in the lining of the gut, decreases during stress. AGA is elevated in people with gliadin intolerance and celiac disease. When immune defenses in the gut are diminished by stress, gut permeability increases as does the amount of AGA in the bloodstream. When the Adrenal Stress Profile indicates an inappropriate hormonal stress response, we will intruct stress reduction through diet and lifestyle modification, and nutritional supplementation to support adrenal gland activity and enhance the restoration of the physical barrier in the gut.

Toxicity of heavy metals and electrolyte profiles

Elements are the small but essential nutrients for proper functioning of the body. You could hold the total amount of the mineral zinc present in your body on the tip of your finger, but without it your cells could not divide and grow, and your organs would stop working in minutes. Every function of your body, from digestion to nerve impulse conduction and brain function, is critically dependent on the presence of about two dozen different elements. Your tissues cannot produce these elements, so they must be supplied regularly in your diet. Many factors, however, make it difficult for us to get adequate amounts of elements. Modern food production depletes elements from foods and our lifestyles do not always make it convenient for us to eat the right balance of foods. Additionally, inadequate digestion and absorption of these nutrients can lead to subtle yet significant deficiencies that can cause serious health problems. Some elements can accumulate in tissues causing toxic effects. Metal toxicity is a significant environmental health concern. A toxic load of lead, cadmium, mercury, aluminum, or arsenic is capable of rendering considerable damage to the brain and nervous system, particularly in children. Toxic elements produce their many negative effects through various mechanisms. The cancer-inducing effect of arsenic seems to be due to an inhibition of DNA repair. Gene-toxicity, in which chromosomes of DNA are damaged, is linked to the free radical generation abilities of cadmium, lead and nickel. conditions and symptoms related to abnormal element levels • Chronic pain in muscles • Fatigue • Brain fog (state of forgetfulness and confusion) • Chronic infections such as candida, HPV, clamydia, etc • Gastrointestinal problems • Food allergies, food intolerance • Dizziness, black out • Migraines/headaches • Visual disturbances • Depression • Anxiety • Nervous system sensitivities

Provocating agents followed by 6 hour urine collection profiles is the best way to evaluate the excess heavy metals in the cellular level as the chelating agents to mobilize and push out toxic elements from body's tissues. One size does not fit all. Prior to chelation or immune enhancement treatment, we suggest check for metal toxicity and metal hypersensitivities as toxicity and hypersensitivities generate different health problems through different each mechanisms.

Melisa test is a validated blood test which diagnoses metal allergy- a key factor in many chronic degenerative diseases, especially chronic unmanagable, unexplained and untreatable diseases. Exposure to metals occurs daily through dental restorations, dental and orthopaedic implants, smoking, cosmetics and polluted foods. For example, silver fillings contain 50% mercury. Fish is often contaminated with methylmercury. Childhood and adult vaccines might still contain thimerosal-mercury-based preservative. In addition to toxicity, metals might induce allergy in generally predisposed individuals. Allergy affects the whole body and expresses itself as a chronic inflammation. Metal-induced inflammation is frequently found in the following diseases: -autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, thyroiditis, rhuematoid arthritis -phychoneuroimuunological diseases such as chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, fibromyalgia -gastrointestinal diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome, crohn's disease, diarrhoea -skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, chronic ulticaria Metal allergy has also been implicated in autistic disorders and allergy against thimerosal can be detected by Melisa test. Melisa test is an accurate and reliable tool for the diagnosis of hypersensitivity (IgG-mediated delayed immune reation) to metals and other allergens such as drugs, chemicals and infectious agents such as candida and borrelia and so on. We use Melisa test to evaluate delayed allergy in patients with autoimmune diseases, low immunity and allergic diseases. It is also used as a tool of dentistry, occupational medicine and implantology. Allergic reactions to metals which used in dental restorations, dental implants and braces. If metal allergy is detected, the worker should be placed in an allergen-free environment to avoid the development of disease. Metals are also used in body implants such as joint implants, breast implants, screws, plates and pacemakers In metal allergic patients, implants may cause adverse reactions, inflammation and implant loosening. Melisa test can be used prior implantation to detect possible existence of allergy to certain implant components. Thus the treatment can be individually tailored. Followings are the examples often our patients select to let measure the allergy to each metal. Dental Amalgams: Mercury, Silver, Copper, Tin, Beryllium, Indium, Nickel, methyl Mercury, Palladium, Titanium dioxide. Dental Restorations: Mercury, Gold, methyl Mercury, Silver, Indium, Tin, Nickel, Palladium, Beryllium, Cadmium. Root canals & composites: Aluminium, Titanium dioxide, Gold, Nickel, Gallium, Cobalt, Cadmium, Chromium, Molybdenum, Lead. Orthopedic implants: Titanium dioxide, Titanium chloride, Aluminium, Cobalt, Calcium titanate, Vanadium, Chromium, Molybdenum,Nickel, Niobium. Vaccination, Autism, Neuro/behavioural: Thimerosal (ethylmercurythiolsalicylate), Aluminium, Nickel, methyl Mercury, Antimonium, Mercury, Titanium dioxide, Lead, gluten, gliadin. MELISA Metal Allergy – Dental Amalgams (10 metals) MELISA Metal Allergy – Dental Restorations (10 metals) MELISA Metal Allergy – Orthopaedic Implants (10 metals) MELISA Metal Allergy – Root Canals and Composites (10 metals) MELISA Metal Allergy – Vaccination, Autism, Neurobehavioural (10 metals) It is important to differentiate between metal allergy and metal toxicity. Melisa test does not measure the levels of metals in a patient's body but it measures whether the patient is allergic to metals. For example, hair samples may show levels of mercury or other substances which are below the official safe limit. However, patient can still be allergic to metals. In conclusion, for allergic individuals, there is not such thing as a 'safe limit'.

Organic acid test (evaluating mitochondria function)

Organic acids are key metabolites of virtually all pathways of cellular metabolism. Derived from dietary proteins, carbohydrates and fats, these compounds are involved in energy production, cellular maintenance, and repair processes. Testing Organic acid is a way to measure whether your body is getting and using nutrients to drive optimal health. Nutrients are protecting agents. Just as your car has additives and devices that protect it, nutrients serve as co-factor or enzyme to protect your heart, brain, pancreas, endocrine organs, and other critical organs. Like a car’s gauges warn of potential problems, your body has certain chemical indicators, known as organic acids, that can alert you to potential problems. Also measured are markers that assess intestinal health, neurotransmitter activity, and detoxification demands. Early warnings can help you make diet and lifestyle changes that may both extend and enhance your quality of life. Many chronic health problems can be difficult to diagnose, especially when they involve nonspecific symptoms such as fatigue, foggy thinking, gastrointestinal upset, joint aches, sleep cycle disturbances, and more. Standard medical testing is designed to identify disease states.

Organic acid testing does not diagnose disease; however, it helps to give insight into the causes of disease. By the time your body begins to show signs of illness, changes have taken place within the cells, and many reactions required for healthy metabolism have become compromised.

Through Organic acid testing, we can visualise what is going on at the cellular level, how well the body is functioning, and how well the body is meeting its demands. Also included are organic acids produced by intestinal bacteria and yeasts, as well as by-products of detoxification. What we can obtain from the test reports? Abnormal levels of any of a number of organic acids, as identified in the urine, may be an indication of compromised cell function. Disturbances of organic acid mitabolism may stem from a variety of conditions including: -compromised cellular energy production -functional nutritional deficiencies -gut bacterial, gut fungal overgrowth, gut dysbiosis, gut detoxification -cellular detoxification • Anxiety • Attention and memory disorders • Autoimmune disorders (arthritis, thyroid disorder etc) • Bloating and gas • Blood sugar dysregulation (ex. Diabetes, low blood sugar) • Constipation • Depression • Dermatitis, eczema, ulticaria, rashes • Ear, nose, and throat symptoms • Fatigue • Headaches • High blood pressure • Liver Disease • Mood swing • Multiple chemical sensitivity • Muscle and joint pain • Nausea, sickness, digestive problem • Reflux • Sleep abnormalities • Weight gain, obesity

Amino Acid panel

Amino Acid Assay can illuminate problems in amino acid absorption by determining essential amino acid imbalances. If hormones originated from amino acids are irregulated, we will modulate the particular amino acids intake. If oxidative stress occurs contributes to a disease, we will adjust the particular amino acids that compose of potential anti-oxidants such as gluthathione. Amino acid profiles show the status of body's electrolytes: magnesium and zinc:- as menrals present being combined with amino acids, for instance magnesium glycinate, zinc carnosinate etc. Amino Acids make up proteins found in every tissue of the body. They play a major role in nearly every chemical process that affects both physical and mental function. As a result, amino acids have more diverse functions than any other nutrient group, including: • Cellular energy production • Formation of ligaments, tendons, and bones • Formation of antibodies • Formation and regulation of enzymes and blood transport proteins • Regulation of muscle activity • Regulation of mood

IgG delayed food allergy

Food sensitivities=immune reaction Clemens Peter Freiherr von Pirquet(1874-1929), a Viennese pediatrician along with ela Schick(1877-1967), an American pediatrician, coined the word alelrgy from the Greek 'allos' meaning charged or altered stated and 'ergon' meaning reaction or reactivity) while studying the effects of smallpox vaccination in patients. Von Pirquet defined allergy to describe a hypersensitivity reaction in which the individual displays an excessively or abnormally sensitive response. Today, a hypersensitivity reaction is defined as an umbrella term for any type of adverse reaction to any number of agents. Allergy on the other hand, an defined by the European Academy of Allergy and Immunology (EAACI), is reserved primarily for clinical reactions in which an immunological mechanism is implicated. Immunogloblins, or antibodies, play an integral role in immune-medicated reactions. Each of these Y-shaped proteins, produced by the cells of our immune system, are specific for each allergen encountered. Sources of allergen vary from person to person and may include certain foods, pollens, anmal dander, molds and yeasts. As part of our defence, these antibodies mediate significant inflammatory processes in efforts to neutralise the allergen. Allergic symptoms are the direct result of this process. Almost everyone knows someone who suffers from symptoms of allergy, including wheezing, runny nose, irritable bowels, migraine, headaches, skin rashes, or a host of other common uncomfortable and often debilitating problems. Conservative estimates are that as many as 25% of the population have significant allergies to some type of food, chemicals, or inhalants. The true incidence of allergy may be considerably higher when considering non-IgE immune reactions. Many of the symptom pictures may not necessarily be associated with allergy and therefore go unrecognised or possibly misdiagnosed. Allergic reaction to foods can be classified as either IgE-mediated or non-IgE-mediated. The role of former in food allergy are well established. However, the majority of food allergies are associated with non-IgE-mediated immune sensitivities. Plus, the majority of food allergies related to chronic illuness.  IgE-mediated food allergy is immdiate reaction. One develops skin rash or itchiness when he eats an allergen immediately. While non-IgE-mediated food allergies takes time to develop symptoms, as such, non-IgE-mediated food allergies are considered as delayed food reaction. The main non-IgE antibodis are IgG antibodies. IgG antibodies are associated with “delayed” food reactions that can worsen or contribute to many health problems. Symptoms of delayed food allergies are diverse and may affect any system in the body. Food sensitivities can occur at any age, triggering many different symptoms and contribute to a variety of disorders. This test clearly identifies those foods that may be originally causing health problems, helping to achieve positive outcomes sooner. Allergic reactions to foods in particular, vary. Some reactions are immediate occurring within a few hours from the time of exposure. Asthma, itchy-watery eyes and nose, rash, swelling and acute gastrointestinal distress are common presentations of this type of immediate IgE antibody-mediated allergic reaction. Because the reaction is usually explosive and sudden in onset, the relationship between offending food and symptom is usually self-evident. On the ther hand, delayed reactions, through IgG antibody immune mechanisms are not as easily recognised simply because of the delayed onset of symptoms which may take hours to days to develop and persist over time. For this reason you may not even be aware of it, nor the toll it is silently taking on your health and well-being. Symptoms tend to be low-grade and chronic; general fatigue, malaise, headaches, difficulty losing weight, acne, insatiable food cravings, htat run-over by-a truck feeling that you just cannot shake. Delayed food reactions are thought to be more common that immediate food allergies and are associated with a spectrum of symptoms that may affect virtually every site in the body. Food intolerance =non-immune mediated food reaction Food intolerance occurs because of lacking of enzymes such as lactase, which is called lactose intolerance, and G6PD(glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase)as well as because of certain substances in foods, such as emulsifiers, additives or glutamate(MSG), salicylates etc. this test analyses the cellular level of the reaction to 100-150 types of food extracts as well as 20 other additives that may be the causes of certain ailments such as asthma, abdominal pain , migraines, allergies, hypersensitivities, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, thyroid diseases, adrenal dysfunction, infertility, depression and other inflammatory diseases. The test measures the susceptibilities of the white blood cells to each food extract and additive.

Fatty acid profiles

are an ideal way to track your progress or response to treatment. This test measures key omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and calculates key indicators to establish your optimal balance. It provides a convenient way to monitor fatty acid supplementation, dietary intakes of trans fats (the “bad” oils in processed foods), identify levels of the inflammatory marker arachidonic acid, as well as ratios to assess eicosanoid balance, and zinc needs. Imbalanced fatty acid profiles lead structural issues at cellular level, which then create inflammation on all over the tissues. For instance, neurological problems such as depression, memory loss, autism, skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis and to name a few are strongly associated with imbalanced fatty acid composition in patient's body. Fatty acid profile test is also recommended to perform prior to phosphatidylcholine infusion treatment to map the accurate regimen of what your cells desperate for.

CDSA test (comprehensive digestive stool analysis)

Gastro-trointestinal (GI) function is important for optimal health. This includes balancing beneficial microbial flora in the gut to enhance health benefits. GI health is key in digestion, nutrient usage, and ridding the body of waste and pathogens. Poor digestion and malabsorption can lead to immune dysfunction, nutritional insufficiencies, premature ageing and various disease states. Poor gut function can also lead to creation of food allergies and other substance toxicities such as infectious agents and metals. Your intestinal tract contains significant amounts of bacteria, some beneficial, some neutral, and some that can be harmful. It is essential to know the microbial balance of your GI tract, especially if you have chronic health problems. Health enhancing intestinal bacteria serve to prevent the overgrowth of potentially harmful bacteria in the gut. Why should you use the Metametrix GI Effects Stool Profiles? • Requires only one, single sample collection •Greater accuracy due to advanced technology DNA analysis •Evaluates balance of microbes shown to contribute to weight gain •Identifies drug resistance genes • To maintain good health Test for: •Inflammation and gut immunity • Immune function and gluten sensitivity • Yeast, candida • Parasites • Bacteria • Pharmaceutical and botanical sensitivities • Cancer-preventative short chain fatty acids • Pancreatic function • Markers for digestion and absorption Conditions and diseases related to gastrointestinal disorders: • Autism spectrum disorders • Food sensitivities •Irritable bowel syndrome • Crohn’s disease • Ulcerative colitis •Maldigestion from history of celiac or other autoimmune disorders Symptoms related to gastrointestinal disorders: • Abdominal pain • Arthritis/joint pain • Headaches/migraines • Diarrhea or constipation • Noticeable change in stool • Bloating/gas • Unexplained weight loss/gain • Blood, mucus, or pus in stool • Hives/skin rash/eczema • Difficulty breathing • Swollen tongue/lips • Acid reflux/heartburn • Chills/fever • Chronic fatigue • Cramping

Vitamin D level

The greatest source of vitamin D is the sun. It can also be found in cheese, the flesh of fatty fish, beef liver, egg yolks, and some mushrooms. Among the many roles that it plays in the body, vitamin D is necessary for: • Calcium absorption • Bone growth • Proper immune function • Reduction of inflammation to note, the recent many researches indicate vitamin D reverses the risk of development of various cancer. Vitamin D usually refers to both its natural and synthetic forms. Vitamin D2 is synthetic, while D3 is naturally found in food and activated by sun exposure. There are several factors that influence the production and absorption of vitamin D, such as age, geographic location, time of the year, skin pigmentation, and sun exposure. Lacking of Vitamin D makes you vulnerable to: • Certain types of Cancer • Osteoporosis • Rickets (in children) • Kidney and liver diseases • Pancreatitis
